MailGate Support Issues

Q. How do I install trial versions of the MailGate extensions?
A. You will need to run the MailGate installation file to install any extensions, as all currently available extensions (except for the List Server) are contained withing this file. Doing this will not affect any of your current MailGate settings.

Steps to install extensions
First of all it is recommended that you have the current MailGate installation file:

Go to the upgrade area to check whether you have the current version, or to download it (you can download and install a MailGate upgrade whether you are evaluating or already have a fully-licensed version).

Next, to install any extensions, do the following:
  1. Stop the MailGate service by clicking on the red traffic light icon, and close the main MailGate window.

  2. Run the MailGate installation file (mgatex86.exe). During the installation you will be presented with a list of checkboxes for the available extensions, just check the boxes for those that you wish to install and continue with the installation.

  3. After installation, you should see an "Extensions" branch in the MailGate Window. Under this you should have the Extension(s) that you installed. To enable it, right-click on the extension and select "Enabled".

  4. You will need to double-click on the extension(s) to configure them (if necessary), and you will need to re-start the MailGate service by clicking on the green traffic light icon.
Applying a license key
If you have purchased a license key for any Extension, to apply the key, do the following:
  1. Double-click on the Extension.
  2. Select the "About" tab.
  3. Click on the "Register" button.
  4. Type in your key into the "Activation key" field and click on OK.
