Q. How do I use PuTTYtel?
A. PuTTYtel is an excellent replacement for the Windows Telnet application, and can be used to aid in checking out networking issues.

Double-click on the Puttytel.exe file, and you'll see a window as show below...

PuTTYtel configuration window
  1. Set the "Host name (or IP address)" field to the name or IP address of the machine you wish to connect to.
  2. Set the "Port" field to the port number you wish to connect to.
  3. Set the "Protocol" radio button to "Raw".
  4. Click the Open button at the bottom of the window to initiate your connection.
